Even during a serious recession you just can’t keep a great city down, and here’s an excellent example of what we mean. U-Haul International just released their annual survey (2009 Top 50 U.S. Destination Cities) which determines the most popular cities movers chose to relocate to over the previous year (based on data from U-Haul truck rentals). Despite current economic challenges, the second most popular city for movers in 2009 was Las Vegas, Nevada. Houston, Texas was number one on the list and Phoenix, Arizona was number fourteen. The Michelle Sterling Las Vegas real estate team works with buyer clients on a continuous basis that ask about the prospects for finding renters for their soon-to-be-acquired investment properties. This nationwide relocation survey is as good an answer as we could hope to give. Clearly, Las Vegas has not lost it’s ability to attract new residents and the U-Haul “Top 50 List” proves it.
